Liquid Filling Challenges and How to Solve Them
Dual-lane filling and a fully synchronized servo rotary capper running in production.
Liquid filling applications can vary widely depending on viscosity, foaming, and splash characteristics. In this case study, we show how a fully integrated liquid filling line was engineered to handle challenging chemical liquids efficiently and reliably.
Challenges in Liquid Filling Applications
Some liquids are harder to run than others...
We recently worked with a contract manufacturer producing chemical liquids.
The product splashes easily, torque requirements are high, and the line needed to run without interruptions.
Engineering Solutions for Difficult Applications
A few engineering decisions made the difference:
- Dual-lane filling to reach required throughput
- Continuous-motion rotary capping to prevent splash after filling and for precise torque at every station
- Inspection reject after capping to avoid production interruptions
- Extra-large hopper on the unscrambler for longer runs
This customer has installed several lines with us over the years, and this configuration shows how those details come together once the line is running.
